AL MUSANNAH: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Al Musannah, through the PSC Continuing Education and Community Service Team (CECS), successfully held a two-day workshop designed to equip cycle one (Grades 1-4) English language school teachers with practical AI skills.

The programme centred around the theme 'Empowering Educators with AI'. The workshop commenced with an inspiring address from Dr Bassam Khalil Hamdan Tabsh, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, who welcomed 45 teachers from various schools. He highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping modern education and helping young learners engage more deeply with knowledge.

The first session, delivered by Muhammad Babar Qureshi, introduced educators to AI tools that function as a 'copilot' in teaching. Participants explored how these tools can support lesson planning, streamline routine tasks and enhance interactive learning.

After a brief networking break, Maryam al Futaisi led an engaging session on designing AI-enhanced lesson plans. Teachers collaborated actively, demonstrating strong enthusiasm and creativity throughout the activity.

The second day opened with Dr Sree Ammanamanchi, who presented 'Teaching Vocabulary Smarter: AI Supported Strategies for Grades 1-4'. The session sparked high participation, reflecting teachers’ interest in applying AI to early literacy skills.

The final presentation, led by Baraah al Mujaini, focused on “AI-Powered Writing: Boosting Student Engagement and Teacher Impact in the Classroom.” Her session offered practical strategies for improving writing instruction using interactive AI tools.
